Trying to Grow your Social Media Following?
There’s so much to learn when it comes to social media. A large proportion of time and energy is invested in coming up with a strategy and implementing your process to get the most out of these amazing platforms to help your business grow by making connections.
We’ve previously talked about which social media profiles could benefit your business, and also what to do if you find yourself a little lost for content. Now it’s time to take a look at how to start growing your numbers.
‘Likes’ and ‘followers’ are what you are aiming to build, however you want them to hold value. It’s all very well having large numbers, but what percentage of those numbers actually engage with you? The quality/quantity of your social network community is important, therefore spending time yourself to ‘like’ and ‘follow’ others that you can also add value to is good practice.
We thought we’d share with you a few tips on how you can put some wheels in motion to grow your following:-
Consistency – making sure that you are consistent will help you to become identifiable. After all, if you post each and every day for two weeks, twice a day and then the following month you disappear into thin air, you’re going to let your followers lose interest. It’s important not to let that happen so make sure your social media strategy is consistent.
Being responsive – there’s no point having a one sided conversation is there? If you put the conversation starter out there, someone replies and then you don’t respond to their response (are you still with us?) then that really isn’t going to look good. Remember, you want to ENGAGE with your audience, not just say your piece and then move onto the next.
Take time to find and follow – You can’t expect people to just find you. You need to go out and find others, take an interest in what they do and ENGAGE with them. Start off by investing your social media time to like and follow others that influence or motivate you. Social media is not just only a great platform to make connections, it’s also a great platform to educate so utilize it well and learn from others. Ask questions and share helpful information. Aim to become and influencer or motivator yourself!
