Thank You – Two Little Words with Amazing Power
Two little words that go a long way…. Thank you!
Never underestimate the impact it can have when you make that extra special effort to say ‘thanks’. Going the extra mile and acknowledging just how important your client is to you and your business works wonders for building and strengthening a healthy business relationship.
“The simple act of saying ‘Thank You’ is a demonstration of gratitude in response to an experience that was meaningful to a customer or citizen.” ~ Simon Mainwairing
Have you ever received a card in the mail from someone you work closely with or turn to for support? If you have, then you will know how great it feels that you are valued. How nice it is to know that someone has taken the time out of their day to show their appreciation of you. It can even change your attitude towards your day, maybe even your week or even better have a longer standing impact on your mindset. Not only receiving thanks makes you feel good, but actually giving thanks makes you feel good too.
Here’s a great article about just why taking time out to pause and give thanks can make a huge difference in life.
Whether or not you subscribe to the Tiger Mum philosophy of not over-indulging children in praise, the truth is that as human beings we all want to be valued and be recognized for our efforts. It’s not about being ‘needy’ but simply feeling appreciated. There’s a distinct difference.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, maybe this is the opportune moment to implement some gratitude time into your business.
How about writing a few cards, maybe sending some flowers or a box of chocolates. Or you can think outside the box and do something a little more creative.
- Try making a video, it’s great to see sincerity when someone is saying the words.
- We here at The Virtual Compass, love to ‘pay it forward’ so how about getting involved within your local business community to help other businesses grow and evolve.
- Create a ‘circle of thanks’ on social media. Recommend others, share knowledge.
There are many ways to say show gratitude. Do you have a favorite? How do you show people they are appreciated? How do you feel when people show that they appreciate you?
We would love to hear your thoughts and comments, so please do share with us and make this Thanksgiving the most thankful one of all.
Until next time…
